Life throws many challenges at us. They can be traumatic, inconsequential or just plain irritating! These challenges can unearth many aspects of our personality that help us to deal with what life presents us. The goal, I believe, is being aware of our decisions and the impact those decisions make in our future. It is so easy for us to make the quick and easy decision. One thing I know, you cannot put off the inevitable. By sticking our heads in the sand, we often get caught in ruts that we find difficult to get out of.
Our personality is molded by our attitude. When we carry bitterness, unforgiveness and resentment around on our shoulders, we can make ourselves very sick, physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. What I know is - we need to be truthful with ourselves before we can begin to deal with issues.
Bitterness, unforgiveness and resentment towards someone is a waste of time and energy. The person you have the issues with, usually doesn't even know that you are carrying the feelings. They are not affected by the situation, we are! Why then, do we do this to ourselves?
The only way I know how to deal with this is to make a positive choice. Our mind is a very powerful tool. I can change my attitude towards those people in my life I have issues with. I can start to speak positively about myself and about other people. I can smile to myself in the mirror and smile at other people. Privately, I can forgive those people who have done me wrong, and importantly, forgive myself.
My goal in life is to be happy and have peace of mind. It is a day by day effort to mentally encourage and affirm myself, physically walk it, and be emotionally balanced in all circumstances.
Life is too short…………
